Authentication Basics
Authenticating The North Face products cannot be done by a single element alone.
It is essential to comprehensively examine four points: tags, embroidery, stitching, and care labels.
Recent fakes have improved logo accuracy, making it risky to judge by logo alone.

⚠ About Zipper Pulls
The shape of the zipper pull varies by era and country of production, so it cannot be used for authentication alone.
Angular pulls exist as genuine products in Korean versions (Korean licensed products), models for China, and different eras. Do not assume a product is fake based on the zipper pull shape alone.

⚠ Important Notes
Do not authenticate based solely on zipper pull shape or country of production. Specifications vary by era, country of production, and license.
Regarding Korean versions: If consistency with Korean-specific care labels and distribution information can be confirmed, the product may be genuine even if its specifications differ from Japanese domestic products. Differences in Korean version specifications do not mean it's fake.
Regarding Korean White Label: Many Korea-exclusive White Label models are not released in Japan and may not appear in domestic search results. Do not conclude it's fake based solely on search results.
Regarding model numbers: There are many systems such as NF0A~, A~, C~, T~, NY~, ND~. "Starting with A" is not the only legitimate format.
QR code authentication: Even genuine products may fail authentication due to broken links, regional differences, or old systems. Failure to authenticate does not necessarily mean it's fake.
NFC: Only some models are equipped. Not all products have it.
Neck tag thread color: Genuine products can have black, white, or gray thread, varying by country of production and era. Cannot be authenticated by thread color alone.
Drawcords and hook-and-loop fasteners: Fakes often show molding defects (flash remnants, cheap sheen) on the tips of drawcord parts. Authentic ones tend to be matte and have appropriate hardness. However, there are significant model differences (e.g., Summit Series, White Label, Kids), so these cannot be authenticated alone. Use them as reference points in conjunction with other factors.
YKK zipper assessment: Fakes may imitate YKK engravings. Genuine YKK zippers may show additional engravings or model numbers depending on the model. Assess the depth and accuracy of the engraving, and the smooth operation of the slider comprehensively. Fakes often have shallow engravings, unnatural fonts, and stiff slider movement. However, the presence of a YKK engraving alone cannot authenticate.
